Information about how we process personal data when you visit our website, use our content or contact us.

We process personal data only where necessary to provide this website, respond to enquiries, take steps prior to entering into a contract or comply with legal obligations.

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This may include, in particular, a name, contact details, IP address, message content and uploaded documents.

External content is loaded only after prior consent. For privacy-friendly statistical analysis, we use Umami Analytics on our own server infrastructure.

3. Hosting and Server Logs

Unsere Website wird auf einem eigenen virtuellen Server der IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, betrieben. Beim Aufruf unserer Website verarbeitet IONOS technisch erforderliche Verbindungsdaten. Dazu können insbesondere folgende Angaben gehören:

  • Volume of data transferred and access status
  • Browser type, operating system and referrer URL

The data is processed to provide the website securely and reliably, diagnose errors and prevent abusive access. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Log data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes stated above or where statutory retention obligations apply.

4. Contact Form and Other Contact

If you contact us via the contact form, by email or by telephone, we process the information you provide in order to respond to your enquiry and any follow-up questions.

The contact form may process, in particular:

  • First name and last name
  • Email address
  • Telephone number, where provided
  • Subject and message content
  • Time of submission and IP address
  • Uploaded vehicle registration files, where provided

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in handling enquiries appropriately pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Uploaded Vehicle Registration Files

Uploading a vehicle registration document is voluntary. Uploaded files are used solely to identify the vehicle and process the specific enquiry. The files are temporarily stored outside the publicly accessible web directory and are automatically deleted from the web server after the enquiry has been sent. The email containing the submitted files is retained for the duration of the enquiry process.

Please submit only the information required to process your enquiry and redact unnecessary details where this is possible for the purpose of the enquiry.

Retention Period

Enquiries and associated documents are deleted once the purpose of storage no longer applies and there are no statutory retention obligations or legitimate interests requiring further storage.

5. Email Delivery

Messages submitted through the contact form are sent via the email account website@schropp-tuning.com and delivered to info@schropp-tuning.com. We use services provided by IONOS SE for email operation.

When emails are sent, the communication and content data required for delivery is processed. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, as applicable.

6. Consent Management and Local Storage

Our website stores your external media preferences locally in your browser. For this purpose, the key schroppConsentV2 is saved in the local storage of your device. It records whether you have consented to external media and when your choice was made.

The storage is used to remember your choice on subsequent page visits. Where storage is technically necessary, it is based on Section 25(2) TDDDG. Where you consent to external media, further processing is based on your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG.

You can review, change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Privacy settings” link. Alternatively, you can delete the website data stored in your browser.

7. Web Analytics with Umami

We use Umami Analytics to analyse website usage statistically. Umami is operated on our own server infrastructure. Analytics data is not shared with Google or other advertising networks.

The following statistical information may be processed, in particular:

  • Pages visited
  • Referring pages
  • Country of origin
  • Browser used
  • Operating system
  • Device type
  • Approximate screen resolution
  • Date and time of the visit

Umami is used without advertising or marketing profiles. No personal usage profiles are created, and the data is not used for personalised advertising.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly statistical analysis and optimisation of our website pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

8. Google Maps Virtual Workshop Tour

A virtual workshop tour from Google Maps can be loaded on our website. The content is blocked by default and is activated only when you click “Load virtual tour” or consent to external media.

The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Once activated, a connection to Google servers may be established. This may involve the transfer of your IP address, browser information, device information, referrer data and interaction data to Google. Processing in third countries, particularly the United States, cannot be ruled out.

The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Google content will not be loaded without your consent.

9. External ECU Tuning Configurator

An external vehicle configurator can be loaded on our ECU tuning page after you give consent. The content is blocked by default and is activated only when you consent to loading external media.

When the configurator is loaded, personal data, in particular your IP address as well as browser, device and referrer information, may be transferred to the technical provider of the configurator.

The technical provider is 24-7Chiptuningfiles.com, Van Utrechtweg 40, 2921 LN Krimpen aan den IJssel, Netherlands.

The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. The configurator will not be loaded without your consent.

10. External Links

Our website contains links to external services, such as Google Maps for route planning. Merely viewing our website does not transfer data to the respective provider through such links. The privacy provisions of the respective provider apply only once you open an external link.
